DEKRA and MRF (Motorbranschens Riksförbund) have entered into a strategic partnership with the aim of increasing transparency and trust in the market for used electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Through the collaboration, MRF’s members gain access to DEKRA’s independent battery tests on favourable terms.
The partnership addresses a growing need among car dealers to be able to offer objective and comparable information on the battery status of electric vehicles—an essential factor as the electrification of the vehicle fleet accelerates.
Independent battery testing as a shared foundation
As part of the collaboration, DEKRA offers two battery test solutions for checking the capacity of the high-voltage battery:
- DEKRA Battery Readout – a quick readout with a summary report of the battery’s estimated performance.
- DEKRA Battery Test – an in-depth analysis with a quality-assured certificate.
DEKRA Battery Test measures the battery’s health, State of Health (SoH), and is completely independent of vehicle manufacturers’ own data, while providing comparable results across different car models. The method is internationally patented and validated by RWTH University in Aachen, Germany.
An offer tailored for MRF members
The battery tests are provided as a SaaS solution, enabling MRF-affiliated car dealers to carry out the tests themselves within their own operations. The collaboration provides access to DEKRA’s system via a discounted agreement and gives dealers clear support throughout the buying and selling process.
The result is increased transparency for end customers and strengthened quality in the trade of used electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
Part of an international initiative
The collaboration between DEKRA and MRF is part of a broader European development. Similar partnerships exist, for example, in Denmark, where DEKRA works with the industry association DBFU to raise quality and credibility in the used market.
Through long-term investments in battery testing and electrified mobility, DEKRA continues to support the industry in the transition towards the vehicles of the future.
