DEKRA offers two different types of solutions for checking high-voltage battery capacity: a battery readout and a patented battery test. The DEKRA Battery Test provides an in-depth and independent analysis of the battery’s health, State of Health (SoH). The DEKRA Battery Readout is instead aimed at those who want a quick overview of the battery’s estimated performance.

Important considerations before your battery test
Check that the battery in the electric vehicle/plug-in hybrid is included in the list* of vehicles DEKRA can test.
In order for the battery test to be performed, the battery needs to be charged between 40–80% (State of Charge).
The battery temperature should be between +10°C and +30°C (this can differ significantly from the ambient temperature).
The individual cell temperatures within the battery should not vary by more than 2°C.
- * DEKRA’s battery test can only be performed on batteries that DEKRA has verified and checked. Even if the car make and model match, the battery in the car may differ between different chassis number series.
- If you have booked a battery test that DEKRA cannot perform for any reason, we will not charge you—for example, if road conditions make it impossible to carry out the test.
- No compensation is provided by DEKRA if the test cannot be performed for various reasons.
